Biography

bioApostolos Chasiotis was born in Almyros Volos in 1968.

He attended the faculty of Political Science of the Kapodistrian University of Athens. At the same time he started working on the construction of visual objects using recyclable materials.

He has participated in various exhibitions and collective actions and in collaboration with new artists all over Greece established Omada “Texni”  (Group “Art”). 

For many years he has been collaborating with the Benaki Museum Shop and the Piraeus Bank Group Cultural Foundation undertaking the design and construction of objects. 

His work mainly includes sculptures and everyday objects made from recycled materials originating from parts of older objects and machinery which like pieces of a three-dimensional puzzle interrelate to create a new image.

Another aspect of his work includes the design and construction of utilitarian objects made by industrial materials like acrylic and metal. This is a totally different creative process which demands the precise design and processing of the materials with mechanical means.
